Club News – 2015-16 RI & District Recognitions

During our March 24th Club meeting President Tommy announced the follow District 7570 Club Awards and Rotary International recognition of Rotary Club of Salem members.

At the District 7570 Conference Awards Luncheon held on Sat. March 19th

Five Salem Rotarians with 25+ Years of Perfect Attendance were recognized…(of only 68 Rotarians in the whole of District 7570)

Jim Bowen – 37 yrs.
Bob McClanahan – 31 yrs.
Earline Orndorff – 26 yrs.
Lew McClung -25 yrs.
Bill Long -25 yrs

At the same Awards Luncheon, The Rotary Club of Salem received the follow District 7570 Awards…

1st Place – Community Service Award
1st Place – Club Service Award
1st Place (Tie ) – District Conference Club Display Award
2nd Place – International Service Award
Gold Club Award

On Saturday night of the conference, during the Rotary Foundation dinner, the Rotary Club of Salem was recognized for its financial support to Rotary International’s “End Polio Now Campaign”.

In addition, the following Club members were recognized for their service.

June Hall Long received the prestigious Rotary Foundation – “Distinguished Service Award”.

Bill Long received the International Service Award for Polio – “Free World Award”

Mary Keely – became member of the Paul Harris Society

Bob Keely – became member of the Paul Harris Society
