Club News – Winter Coat Drive, Dictionaries for Kids

Prior to our January 16th meeting Club members dropped off much needed new or lightly used cold weather garments for those in need.  The Club donated 151 coats, 14 pairs of gloves, 8 scarves, 32 hats and $65.00.  In picture (left to right) are Danny Hall, Lisa Garst and Club President Sam Carter.

During our meeting members greeted City of Salem third graders representing all their classmates, who recently received their annual gift of dictionaries from the Club.   This is an  annual event is sponsored by Bill and June Long.  Diane Rose from East Salem Elementary told us of how children she has known have kept their dictionary in good use as they advance in their studies.  Club member’s June Hall-Long, Dr. Alan Siebert, and President Sam are pictured  (left to right).
