Club Meeting – December 5th 2013
Today we were honored to host the Southwest Virginia Ballet.
The Southwest Virginia Ballet is committed to making the performing arts experience available to all ages from all walks of life. The company strives to provide, free of charge, the highest quality of pre-professional training possible to young dancers, to promote cultural enrichment and awareness of the art of dance by producing affordable productions in a variety of dance styles, and to reach out to under-served and at-risk children through our community outreach programs.
The Southwest Virginia Ballet Senior Company Members performed several holiday theme numbers for our Club – “Blue Kicks”, “Reindeer Dance”, “Spanish” and “Harlequin” excerpts from the Nutcracker and a traditional piece “Swanhilda” from Coppelia.
The “Reindeer Dance” photo includes Salem High School students Megan Chaos and Audrey Stephenson (Jacyln Padgett from Salem High School is not pictured) along with Nancy Kelderhouse, Executive Director of the Southwest Virginia Ballet, at the podium.
The Southwest Virginia Ballet will be staging its annual performance of the Nutcracker December 14th & 15th.

The Club members extend a warm thanks to the students and staff of the Southwest Virginia Ballet for providing us with a memorable holiday experience.
We wish the organization continued success in its 25th year of enriching the lives of students and citizens of our region.
