Club Meeting – Jan. 17th

Linda Miller, Archivist for Roanoke College, shared with us the history of Elizabeth College.  Elizabeth College was a women’s college located in Salem.  Originally founded in 1912 as Roanoke Women’s College, Elizabeth College moved from Charlotte and merged with Roanoke Women’s College in 1915.  The College emphasized music and other subjects canada goose outlet store that were considered “appropriate” for young women of that time period.  The Elizabeth College campus burned in 1921 and the school closed the next year.
