Club Meeting – January 29th, 2015

Today we had the first of a two part program presenting the pros and cons of the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline project.  Presenting the opposing point of view we had club member Mike Mayo, fellow Bent Mountain resident Steve Hanes and Roanoke College professor Dr. Steve Powers.

The speakers raised questions as to the use of eminent domain, safety to areas surrounding compressor stations and high pressure pipelines and the possible negative impacts to the growing reputation of our region for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational resources.
