Club Meeting – January 26th, 2017
The speaker at our Jan. 26th meeting was Liz Belcher, Greenway Coordinator. The club has looked forward to Ms. Belcher’s update from her visit last Spring. Many in the club use this wonderful community resource and are interested to learn of the current status of Greenway construction. The building of Ronaoke Valley Greenways is an integral part of quality of life enhancements and economic development in our region. Ms. Belcher reviewed the status of current work, upcoming phases and the challenges faced in making Roanoke Valley Greenways and “Blue” ways a reality. Acquiring right-of-way is still the primary impediment to speedy implementation of funded Greenway projects.
