Club Meeting – December 4th, 2015
We always welcome news of creative initiatives to foster economic development in the Roanoke Valley region. Especially those that facilitate entrepreneurial activity enabling the bright and talented the chance to seek their dreams in Southwest Virginia.
Today Ariel Lev, Director of Colab, spoke of the impact the CoLab hopes to have in generating business opportunities locally. CoLab’s mission is to “provide an infrastructure for Roanoke’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through programs, education, networking, mentorship and shared workspace.”
CoLab is an all purpose office and event space offering startups and small business the resources of an office without the upfront costs. The aim is to bring together community leaders, entrepreneurs, freelancers and the like into a collaborative atmosphere. The CoLab also hosts events, workshops, and seminars on starting a business, marketing, and technology.
They are actively looking to keep momentum from their early success to expand locations and to partner with other regional entities like the Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council.
