Club Meeting – August 20th, 2015
Our speaker was Jon Bartlett, President of LewisGale Regional Health System. Today’s program was the second of two programs held back-to-back concerning the primary healthcare service providers in our region. The citizens of Southwest Virginia are fortunate to have the quality medical services offered by these institutions. Their contributions to our local economy and quality of life are very significant.
LewisGale Medical Center‘s parent company, HCA Inc., is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, and is comprised of locally managed facilities that includes about 165 hospitals and 115 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and England and employing approximately 204,000 people. In Salem Virginia LewisGale Medical Center (LGMC) started in 1909 as a 26-bed facility and for more than a century has been dedicated to caring for and preserving life .
Mr. Bartlett touched many on topics including and not limited to LewisGale Medical Center’s scope of services, commitment to quality healthcare, its economic impact on the region, and a warning that our national is facing a shortage of physicians.
LGMC’s common goal is simple: To be the most trusted and respected healthcare system in Western Virginia. “We are proud to be Salem’s hospital.”
