Club News – Club Member Recognized for Work to End Polio Now
At our meeting on November 3, 2016 Past District Governor Henry Nickels presented Bill Long with the Service Award for A Polio-Free World. “The award is given to deserving Rotarians by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Only one award is given each year, if we have a deserving Rotarian within our district. Only three awards have been given in our district, namely June Long, PDG Eric Adamson, and now Bill Long.“
The award recognizes outstanding contributions to Rotary International’s worldwide polio eradication efforts. The Rotary Club of Salem is proud to have members who so typify our motto of Service Above Self.
Congratulations Bill and June Long!
