Club Meeting – June 22nd, 2017
We were fortunate this Rotary year 2016-17 to have several programs presented by leaders of small liberal arts college and universities. Today the series ended with Hollins University President Nancy Oliver Gray. President Gray is retiring soon and has served as Hollins University’s President since January of 2005. Hollins University has experienced change and growth over her tenure. The university has continued to afford women a unique liberal arts and science education while expanding its niche to include co-ed programs while striving to provide all students with experiential learning opportunities and strong career preparation.
The Roanoke Valley is fortunate to have a significant presence of institutions of higher learning from Ferrum College, Hollins University, Jefferson College of Health Sciences, Roanoke College to the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute. We hope President Gray’s successor can continue to add to the many contributions these institutions provide our region.
