Club Meeting – December 8th, 2016
The Rotary Club of Salem is an active Rotary Club. Several times a year we forego program topics of general interest to find time to catch up on club activities or prepare for upcoming club sponsored events or to just have a little extra time to enjoy our fellow members.
We started our “Club” program with President Lisa recalling how fantastic the new float was in the Christmas Parade and thanked all involved. (see pictures on our Facebook page)
Next on the club business agenda were reminders for the many volunteers preparing for Christmas for Kids on December 9th and 10th. We also reviewed plans for our annual delivery of Christmas dinners.
President Lisa then handed out a list to tables with questions regarding the upcoming holidays and encouraged the members to talk among themselves for some holiday “table talk”.
The topics were:
– Describe your favorite Christams memory.
– Have you ever been surprised under the mistletoe?
– Talk about the best Christmas gift you ever received.
– What’s one tradition you wouldn’t miss?
– New Year’s Resolutions for 2017.
A member who was present shared… “There were some good memories shared, but I don’t believe anyone fessed up any to mistletoe encounters!”
Holiday Rotary Cheers to the Christmas for Kids, Thanksgiving & Christmas Dinner Outreach, and Christmas Parade committees for the time they give during the busy holiday season to better families and children’s lives.
