Club Meeting – December 11th, 2014

Today Jim McAden, Lenora Downing, Skip Lautenschlager and June Long presented to members the scope of 2014-2015 Charitable Giving made by our Club.  They described how the time and effort invested by everyone in the room, which Jim characterized as FUNraising, benefited our community and others around the globe.

Jim started the program by rallying the Club towards our upcoming major fundraiser the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament.  Jim recognized Dan Wooldridge for his key role over the years in making this a nationally successful event for the ODAC schools and students, City of Salem and our Club. Enjoy Club fellowship, watch NCAA Division III student-athletes compete, buy tickets, encourage folks to attend games, and most important of all SELL ADS to the tournament program.

Lenora, Skip and June reviewed all the organizations receiving Club grants as recommended by their respective committees and approved by the Board of Directors.  Please visit the Fundraiser, Community , Community Projects, and International pages of our website to learn more of the Club’s fundraising efforts, projects they support and grants to service organizations made for this Rotary year.

The Rotary Club of Salem made donations in excess of $70,000 to local and global service organizations.
