Club News – 2016 James W. Elliott Scholarship Award

In 2007 the Rotary Club of Salem established the James W. Elliot Scholarship.  The scholarship is awarded annually to a Salem High School student.  This year the recipient is Beatriz Salvador, who will attending Virginia Tech this Fall.  Beatriz’s initial area(s) of study will be biology or chemistry with the aim of entering the medical field. Beatriz was inspired to study medicine after visiting a parent’s original home, a small village in rural Mexico.  We wish Beatriz continued success in all her endeavors.
