The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women’s basketball coaches made their preseason visit to the Rotary Club of Salem as a part of the 2013 ODAC Women’s Basketball Media Day.  The annual event includes an ODAC coaches meeting with local media coverage and a luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club of Salem.  The ODAC coaches are asked to provide a preview of the upcoming season in anticipation of the ODAC Basketball Tournament held in the Salem Civic Center and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Salem.

All 12 of the conference coaches thanked the members of the Rotary Club for their generosity and hard work sponsoring the conference tournament since 1981.  Since that time, over $500,000 in tournament proceeds have been distributed to charitable organizations in and around the Roanoke Valley.

ODAC Meeting 110713In the Spring of each year the Rotary Club of Salem honors ODAC student-athletes by presenting the Jostens Trophy and the Wooldridge Scholarship to a men’s and women’s basketball player exemplifying excellence in the classroom, on the playing court and in the community.
