In what is becoming a Club tradition, our meeting today kicked off (pardon mixing of sport jargon) the 2015 ODAC Basketball Tournament with a court-side lunch and the singing of the National Anthem prior to the tip-off of the tournament’s first quarterfinal match between #1 Randolph-Macon and #8 Randolph. Club members who could devote the time saw the #1 tournament seed win 72-63.  Randolph-Macon went on to win the men’s championship beating #2 Virginia Wesleyan 81-74.

Early reports are from both a fundraising and as hosts of the tournament all aspects of the 2015 ODAC Basketball Tournament were a success.  Over the last three meetings (Feb. 5th, Feb. 12th, Feb. 19th) our Club was able to meet a cross section of the people who make up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference from students to coaches and administrators.  In each case a favorable impression was left with our Club members which only spurrs us to make next year’s tournament a better experience for the ODAC’s student-athletes and their coaches.

Congratulations are in order to John Shaner and his ODAC committee members for the excellent job the do representing Rotary and our Club.
